Stan Lee, co-creator of beloved comic book characters such as Spider-man and The Hulk, has been accused of sexual harassment and groping by several nurses who were in his employ.
The 95-year-old has been accused of repeatedly groping and harassing a number of young female nurses who were caring for him. According to the nursing company, Stan Lee asked for oral sex in the shower and walked around naked whilst requesting to be “pleasured” in the bedroom.
Media outlets revealed that the nursing company, which caters for celebrities and high-profile clients, is seeking to press charges against the Marvel creator. Currently, no police complaint or lawsuits have been filed.
An attorney representing Lee released a statement in which the pop culture icon vehemently denies the allegations presented against him. More so, the lawyer claims these allegations to be nothing more than a blackmail attempt.
“Mr. Lee will not be extorted or blackmailed, and will pay no money to anyone because he has done absolutely nothing wrong.” Said Tom Lallas, Lee’s attorney.
Lee is a former president and chairman of Marvel and was in part responsible for the creation of many comic book characters including Iron Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man.
Marvel has become a pop culture powerhouse thanks to its highly successful film industry, which has amassed a revenue of $23 billion at the box office.
A person close to Lee has seemingly confirmed the allegations claiming that “Stan is an old man who has seemingly lost his way”.
In addition, a representative of the nursing company confirmed that the owner received numerous complaints from nurses who worked at Lee’s West Hollywood residence. The owner was aware of the complaints with the company and Lee parting ways at the end of last year.
Vitale Nursing Inc has reportedly stepped in to continue Lee’s care with a representative claiming that the comic book icon has been “polite, kind and respectful” so far.
